Director of Operations, British Animal Rescue and Trauma Care Assoc.
Tuesday 13th May 2025 10 am-4 pm
Melbourne Veterinary School, University of Melbourne Werribee Campus.
Horseracing and equestrian event organisers around the world recognise that multi-skilled teams' effective responses to emergency incidents at racecourses and other competition venues are vital to achieving the best outcomes and maintaining public confidence in horse sports. Jim Green is a global leader in animal emergency incident response and has spearheaded emergency incident management training for UK racecourses and major equestrian competitions.
Jim has worked with the veterinary response teams at the London 2012 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games and has pioneered the translation of the structured responses used by emergency services into a format now adopted across all UK racecourses. In this highly interactive and practical workshop, Jim will demonstrate the emergency incident management guidance developed in the UK with stakeholders including British Horseracing Authority, the Racecourse Association, the Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons, equestrian associations, and the British Animal Rescue & Trauma Care Association (BARTA).
